ONAWA, Iowa -- Frances Helen Fletcher, 92, of Whiting, Iowa, formerly of Onawa, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery near Whiting. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Frances was born Aug. 13, 1909, in Turin, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Blanche Edith (Bower) Bomar. She attended Turin Schools. She left school in her early teens to help care for her brothers and sisters at home.

Frances was married to Glenn Leslie Fletcher in 1929 at Elk Point, S.D. He preceded her in death 50 years ago. Frances was a homemaker and did crocheting and embroidering when her health permitted.

Frances was a member of First Christian Church in Onawa.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Pritchard and Judith Weatherly, both of Omaha, Neb.; a son, Raymond Eugene and his wife, Jane of Onawa; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Bonnie Baratta of Simi Valley, Calif., and Virginia McKenna of California. She is also survived by her family at Pleasant View Care Center where she made her home. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
