ONAWA, Iowa - Ronald J. Hoffman, 55, of Onawa died suddenly Monday, June 11, 2001, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa.

Mrs. Hoffman was born June 9, 1946, in Onawa, the son of Clarence and Dorothy (Goodman) Hoffman. He graduated from West Monona High School in 1964.

He married Sandra Buchberger on April 7, 1972, in Onawa. He was employed with Farmers Coop elevator from 1964 to 1990, where he was the assistant manager.

He was a member of First Christian Church, where he was a former deacon. He served as a volunteer fireman for 10 years.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James of Omaha; a daughter, Mary Hoffman of Onawa; two grandchildren, Reinrick and Raina; a brother and his wife, Charles "Pete" and Pat of Onawa; and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
