ONAWA, Iowa - Harold K. Murdock, 82, of Onawa died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with the Rev. Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Little Sioux Cemetery, Little Sioux, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Murdock was born July 4, 1918, in Little Sioux, the son of Albert and Myra (Knott) Murdock. He was raised in Little Sioux.

He married Margaret Ellen Gray. The couple moved to Montana, where he was employed as a lineman on a ranch. He later returned to Iowa, where he sheared sheep, worked on farms and in a packing house, and drove a dump truck.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Mavis and Jerry Newman of Madrid, Iowa, Sharon and Rick Little of Greenfield, Iowa, and Sandy and John Myer of Coral Springs, Fla.; three sons, Harold "Skip" of Jacksonville, Fla., James of Castana, Iowa, and Michael and his wife, Carol of Denver, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth of Onawa; and a special companion, Jayne Haynes of Onawa.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Noal, Chester and Bernard.
