Jana Celli

Jana Alberta Corrine Borsheim Celli died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 in Zebulon, North Carolina. Jana was born in Whiting, Iowa on December 31, 1916.

While attending Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, she was a concert cellist with the Sioux City Symphony. She also toured with the Morningside Singers in several states.
Jana served as Worthy Matron of The Eastern Star in Onawa, Ia. Her passion for music led Jana to serve as Director of Music at United Church of Christ in Blencoe, Ia., and to teach private piano lessons in Iowa, Nebraska, and North Carolina.

While living in Raleigh, she shared her love of piano by teaching at Ravenscroft School and her musical knowledge as an employee of Burrage Music Company. Jana was proud of her Noewegian heritage and was a founding member of the Sons of Norway.

Preceded in death by her husband, Michael Celli, Jana is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kermit and Janet Mobley of Raleigh, N.C. and her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Virgil Oberg of Ceresco, Ne. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition, Jana is
survived by one sister, Ariel Wonder, of Onawa,Ia.
