Obituary of Samuel Grothe

Samuel Growthe, son of Charles Growthe and Charlotte Childers Growthe was born 25 August 1864 in Indiana and passed away 13 October 1936 at the age of 72 years. He was united in marriage to Anna Johnson at Juelsburg, Colorado on May 14, 1887.

To this union eleven children were born, two dying in childhood.

Surving are his nine children: Mrs. Lillie Halderman of Albion, Wyoming, Nellie Smith of Blair, Nebraska, Lena Green of Cheyenne, Wyo., Jessie Tylar, Mitchell, Nebraska, Dolly Lake and Carrie Harris of Modale, Iowa, Bessie Raymond and Edith Waltz of Little Sioux, Iowa, Fred Grawthe, Gretna, Nebraska. Two brothers Charley and George Grothe of Rosston, Okla. Twenty five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Christian Church in Little Sioux. Rev. Dwight Walker of Moorhead was the officiating minister.
