Harlan Nathan EDGINGTON, son of Henry and Idell EDGINGTON, was born Sept. 26, 1880 near Mapleton. Hew was the oldest child in a family of four. He resided in the Mapleton community his entire life, having farmed east of Mapleton until 1947, at which time he moved to town.

He was married to Clara TAYLOR Dec. 21, 1904 at Mapleton. Three children were born to this union. One daughter, Ruby, preceded him in death in 1949.

He was a member of the Methodist Church in Mapleton.

Mr. EDGINGTON died Sunday, March 25, 1956 at his home in Mapleton, after a lingering illiness, at the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 29 days.

He is survived by the widow, Clara; two sons, Glenn and Byron of Mapleton; one sister, Mrs. Mabel RENFRO of Mapleton; one brother, John EDGINGTON, Sr. Mapleton. He was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral service were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27 at the Methodist Church in Mapleton, Rev. Eugene HANCOCK officiating.

Burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery at Mapleton under the direction of the BYERS - WALTERS service. Pallbearers were George DEAN, Orval SPAHN, Marinus JOHNSON, Adrian KRAFT, Fitz THIES and Louis GODBERSON.
