Bertha Minna Bockelmann

Bertha Minna Bockelmann was born March 14, 1884 and passed away July 7, 1970 at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 23 days. She was the daughter of Fredrich and Dorothea Hogreve Bockelmann.

She was baptized in the Hanover Township Lutheran Church and confirmed in St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa.
She grew to womanhood near Charter Oak. Latter she moved to Denison. In 1967 due to failing health she became a resident of the Eventide Nursing Home in Denison, Iowa. In 1969 she moved to the Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa, where she passed away.

Survivors include nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, George Bockelmann: one sister, Matilda Kroll: two half brothers and six half sisters.

Funeral services were held at Huebner Funeral Home in Charter Oak July 9 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev Albert L Prouty officiating. Mrs. Paul Clausen was organist and songs were by Mrs. Bernice Eck, Mrs. Gerald Kuhlmann and Mrs. Herbert Kuhlmann. Pallbearers were Elmer Bockelmann, James Kalskett, Paul Kuhlmann, Jr. LaVern Bockelmann, Gerald Kuhlmann and Wilbur Kunze. Interment was in St. Paul’s Cemetery at Charter Oak.
