Mrs. Myrick Whiting, 57, Whiting, died Wednesday in an Onawa hospital of a long illness.
Private graveside services will be Thursday in the Whiting Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Gunther will officiate.
There will be a memorial service at 2:30 pm Friday in the First Congregational United Church of Christ at Whiting. The Rev. Mr. Gunther will officiate.
Mrs. Whiting, the former Margaret Patricia Keating, was born July 1, 1922, in Sioux City. She was graduated from Central High School in 1941 and attended Albany Business School in Albany, N.Y.
She was married July 6, 1945, at Rapid City (S.D.) Army Air Force Base and moved in the Whiting area in October of 1945.
She attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ and served on the Whiting library board for 22 years. She had been librarian for the last seven years.
Survivors include the widower; a son, Myrick III of Whiting; two sisters, Mrs. John (Martha) Bradly of Austin, Texas and Mrs. David (Carolyn) Roberts of Plano, Texas, and a brother, Phillip F. Keating of Sioux City.
A memorial has been established in Mrs. Whiting's name with the Whiting Public Library.
