Bernard M. Stewart, 59, died Monday at his home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Christian Church in Onawa. The Rev. Everett Epperson will officiate. Burial will be at the Onawa Cemetery under direction of the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.

Mr. Stewart was born Oct. 1, 1919, at Onawa where he recieved his education.

He married Hazel Stanton, Sept. 9, 1940 at Council Bluffs and they moved to Sioux City in 1945. She died July 4, 1979. He was a truck driver.

Mr. Stewart was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater.

Survivors include two sons, Bernard J. of South Sioux City and John M. of Sioux City; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one brother, James B. of Sioux City.
