14 March 1907Died:-Archibald Leach- Monday morning, March 11, 1907, aged 67 years, 26 days.
Archibald Leach was born in Ripley County, Indiana, Feb 15, 1838. He served in Co. G., 29th Indiana Infantry in the war of the rebellion. He came to Guthrie County, Iowa. In the spring of 1870, and then to Monona County in 1871, where he resided continuously until the year 1900, when he removed to Oklahoma and resided until 1905. He then came to Ute. Iowa, and made his home with his sister, Mrs. J A Downing until his demise.
The deceased was united in marriage to Malinda Osborn, August 7, 1862, from which union was born three children, one girl and two boys. He leaves two sons, two brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Leach had been a constant sufferer for many years and during the past two years he had been unable to leave his bed. He was converted and united with the Baptist church in the spring of 1872. He was buried Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock in St Clair cemetery, the GAR and Sons of Veterans having charge of the ceremonies.
