Albert Charles AdamsAlbert Charles Adams was born January 7, 1887 in Otsego County, Butternut, New York and passed from this life in the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa on December 13, 1977. Death came at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 8 days.
Mr. Adams was a retired railroad worker, having served for many years for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. For the past 60 years he has been a resident of this community.
On December 20, 1905, he was united in marriage with Margaret Stansberry in Harrison County, Iowa. She preceeded him in death.
Early in life he accepted the Christ as his Savior and was united with the Christian Church in New York State.
Survivors include his two daughters: Mrs. Carl (Evalyn) Heninemann of Blencoe and Mrs. Viola Meeker of Onawa: three sons, Franklin and Albert F. (Bud) both of Blencoe and Charles of Escalon, California: 19 grandchildren, 51 great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Service were Friday, December 16, 1977 at 1:30 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. The organist, Mrs. Carl Linden, accompanied soloist, Mrs. Fred Gibson in the selections, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Abide With Me”.
Bearers were John Hubert, Hugh Grey, Robert Comfort, Farnam Kinney, Bruce Brown, and Dick Cartmell. Interment took place in Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa.
Arrangements were by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
