Funeral Services
Held for Andrew Adams, ThursdayAndrew W Adams, was born at Atlanta, Illinois, June 2, 1861, and passed from this life at his home in Hennesey, Oklahoma, October 12, 1945.
He was united in marriage with Sophronia Wilkinson, who preceded him in death about 16 years ago. To this union was born five children: two boys and three girls, Orus of Onawa, Jesse of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Maude Terry of Edgemont, S. Dak. And Mrs Ethel Jinks of Missouri. One daughter, Mrs. Rose Telford, preceded him in death in 1943.
Mr. Adams choose Christ as His Saviour and was united with the Christian Church.
He selected farming as his vocation- about 14 years ago he moved from his Iowa farm near Onawa to California and then later to Hennesey, Oklahoma, where he passed away.
About seven years ago he was united in marriage with Philuca Melinda of Hennesey, Okla.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his four children, his second wife, a number of grandchildren, several other relatives and a host of friends.
Services were conducted from the Pearson Chapel on Thursday, afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with Everett Epperson, the officiating clergyman. Burial was in the Onawa Cemetery with the Pearson Funeral Home in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. Walter Plinski who sang “God Knows” and “A-bide With Me” accompanied by Mrs. Glen Edwards at the piano.
