DIE IN FIRE (About 1978)

Services for Gerold LeRoy Grant, Jr. and Marsha Beth Grant were held Monday at 11 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City.

The Rev. Robert Zommermaand and Randall Brouwer officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.

The couple died Saturday morning when their mobile home caught fire.

Mr. Grant was born November 6, 1954, in Pisgah. At the time of his death, he was employed by DeGroot Insulation Co. Survivors include his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Gerold Grant, Sr., of Castana, two sisters, Mrs. Jim (Shirley) Kinney of LeMars and Sheila of Castana; five brothers, Harold and Donald, both of Sioux City, and Melvin, John and Bill, all of Castana, Parental grandfather, Vernon Grant of Soldier and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Beulah McDermott of Mapleton.

Mrs. Grant, the former Marsha Hibma, was born March 29, 1956 in Sheldon. She was employed as a seamstress at K Products.

Survivors include her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Ted Hibma of Chandler, Minn., three sisters, Sharon of Willmar, Minn., Judy of Orange City, and Teresa of Chandler; two brothers, Daryl of Orange City and Roger of Dell Rapids, S. D., and maternal grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Theodore Westerveld of Sheldon.
