Parker Kimball Holbrook
Member of Board of Education, was born at Onawa, Iowa, September 23, 1864, and is the son of Bernard D. Holbrook and Mary F. (Oliver) Holbrook. He was educated in Onawa high school and the State University of Iowa, of which latter institution he was a member of the class of 1886, but did not graduate. In June, 1885, he entered the banking house of Holbrook & Bro., in which he became a partner in 1894 and has continued in that business to the present time. He was elected regent of the state university in 1896, and re-elected in 1902 and 1908. Elected chairman of the executive committee of the board of regents in 1897, and continued in that position until the establishment of the state board of education. A republican in politics.
