Kenneth Lee, the oldest of the children of Kermit Oscar and Clara Johanna (Bartels) Amunson, was born July 8, 1944 in the Ute Hospital. While in high school, Kenny was a member of the National F.F.A. Band in 1962 and received a Farm Mechanics Award in F.F.A. He graduated from the Charter Oak-Ute High School in 1962, and then attended ISU in Ames, Iowa, taking a farm winter short course for one quarter. Kenny married Bette Joann Stevenson on December 1, 1963 at Onawa, Iowa. Bette, the daughter of George and Bernice (Hoffman) Stevenson, was born on Feb. 20, 1944 in Onawa, Iowa. Kenny and Bette live at Ute, and Kenny is engaged in farming, carpentry, and mechanics. They have three daughters, Lori Ann, born May 26, 1965; Lana Jean, born Nov. 14, 1967; and Shari Lynn, born June 26, 1973.
