Businessman Dies at Osage; Long IllnessOSAGE — Lyman Young, 71, died Monday afternoon al his home here from cancer. He had
been in failing health more than a year. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the
Champion Funeral Home with burial in the Osage Cemetery. The Reverend Paul Johnson will officiate.Born at Garden Grove, to Richard and Lillian Young, he was married to Margaret King, Oelwein, March 16, 1910. They lived at LeRoy, Iowa and owned and operated a general store there. They purchased the Dalbey Lumber Yard at Osage in 1916 and retired in 1950.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, past director of the Home Trust and Savings Bank,
director of the Home Savings and Loan and a member of the First Methodist Church.Survivors are his wife, a son, John, two grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Leo Sullivan and Mrs. Berneice Schmidt, both of Burlington; Mrs. Verle Stanley, Humiston; Mrs. A. B. Rogers, Plattsmouth, Neb.
