Eliza Cooper Hadfield was born Feb. 14, 1843, in Norfolk, England. Coming to America in childhood she became a resident of Waukasha, Wis. where she grew to womanhood and was married to Aaron Hadfield, Oct. 18, 1866.

They have been residents of Mitchell county, Iowa, about thirty years, and were widely and favorably known. Here were born to them three sons and two daughters, all of whom are now residents of this county. Deceased was also stepmother to three girls and two boys all living.

Death came on Feb. 26, 1899, severing the blessed memory of a good wife and mother. The funeral was conducted from the home, a large number being present, March 1st. 1899. The interment was in Brownville cemetery.
