We are pained to announce the death of Mrs. L. Rood, of this city, which event occurred at 10 o'clock last evening. Mrs. Rood has been sick for some time with dropsy, and for a while it was thought she might recover, but the disease took an unfavorable turn and she gradually sunk away.

Mrs. R. was 67 years of age, and has lived in this city for many years, making close friends wherever she made acquaintances, and she will be sincerely mourned in many homes besides those of her immediate family. The funeral will take place at the family residence, to-morrow at 10 o'clock P.M. The PRESS extends its warmest sympathy to the afflicted family and friends.
