Died - in Tainter, Dunn county, Wisconsin, August 4, 1879, R.F. Blodgett, Sen., aged 72 years and 8 months.
Deacon Blodgett came from Wisconsin in 1866 and settled at Mitchell, in this county, and continued his residence there until last October, when he moved back to Wisconsin, and settled on a farm in Dunn county.
About seven weeks before his death he was confined to his house with an attack of bronchitis, from which he did not rally, but passed peacefully over the river to take up his abode in the home prepared for the faithful.
Deacon Blodgett was a quiet, unassuming man, and in early years united with the Baptist church, and continued through a long life a useful and faithful member of the church of his choice.
He was always recognized as a good citizen, a devoted husband, a kind father, and was greatly respected by all within the circle of his acquaintance.
He died strong in the faith of his Redeemer, and has gone home to enjoy the heavenly mansion prepared for those who are faithful to the end.
He was the father of A.J. Blodgett, our foreman, and leaves a wide circle of relatives and acquaintances in this county who mourn his death. They have the earnest sympathy of the entire community in this their great bereavement.

Our foreman, A.J. Blodgett, returned home from Wisconsin on Tuesday, where he was called to attend the sick bedside of his father. He reached there in time to see him alive. He has our heartfelt condolence in the death of his father, whom we know he lived, honored and reverened.
