Mrs. Wm. Cutler died Monday morning, and was buried in the Osage Cemetery on Tuesday. The funeral services took place at the Universalist Church (owing to repairs being made on the Congregational Church), conducted by Rev. T.O. Douglass, her pastor.

Mrs. Cutler has been sick for a long time, and her death was not unexpected by her friends. She was a woman greatly esteemed by the entire community for her many good qualities and for her Christian virtues, which shone bight in her daily walks of life.

She was a member of the Congregational Church, and that society has sustained a great loss. She was an affectionate and devoted wife, and her friends deeply mourn her death. She has gone home to rest in the bosom of her Redeemer.

A Card.
To the very many friends, who cared for us so patiently and attentively in our sickness, and buried so tenderly and lovingly my precious wife, I hereby return my very sincere and heartfelt thanks. May the choicest of God's blessings rest upon you all,
Afflicted, but comforted.
Yours, Wm. Cutler

~Mitchell Co. Press, Osage, Thursday, April 18, 1878; pg 5

Notes: She is named as Sarah M. Belding in Wm. Cutler's obituary. She was his first wife. Osage City cemetery records give DOD as 14 Apr 1878.
