JERMAN.
E. W. Jerman was born at Frankfort, Oneida county, N. Y., Aug. 26, 1823, was married to Mary A. Seavy in 1845. They moved to Gratiot, Wis., in 1847, where he was in the hotel and mercantile business until 1891, when they came to this vicinity. Since then he has led more or less of a retired life, except insurance business and work of justice of the peace, having held that office here and in Wisconsin for thirty years. He was a true friend, a kind, loving husband. His wife, Mary A. Jerman, preceded him Oct. 26, 1912. He has been rather failing in strength since last spring, but has been very patient and always anxious to make no bother for others. He was a Mason for many years and that order had charge of the burial ceremonies. He passed away Jan. 23, 1915, after a very brief illness at his home in Riceville, Iowa. He is the last of his family, his brothers and sisters having gone before him. He has nephews and nieces, but no children.—Riceville Recorder.
