St. Ansgar, Iowa - Ruth Jean Albrecht Hollatz, died on January 5, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar. Funeral service will be on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Mark Squire officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth was born on November 18, 1924 the daughter of Ervin and Lillian (Mielke) Albrecht in St. Ansgar, where she lived her whole life. Ruth graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1943. On October 30, 1943 she was married to Lawrence Hollatz. To this marriage 3 daughters were born; Beverly (Gerald) Beaver, Barbara (Jim) Medlin and Jane Dalluge.

Ruth devoted her life to being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence in 1983; one son in law and one great-grandchild.

Ruth is survived by her three daughters; two son in laws; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
