St. Ansgar, Iowa - Trudy Lee Durben, age 69, of St. Ansgar, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 20, 2019.

Funeral service will be Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with Rev. Christopher Staley officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, and one hour prior to service at the church on Friday.

Trudy was born March 30, 1950, in Rochester, Minnesota, the daughter of Willis and Gladys (Ferden) Sorensen.

Trudy spent her life helping others, working many years at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home and most recently at various positions as a personal care aide helping members of the community.

She spent her time with friends and family.

Enjoyed being outside and camping in the summer and spending time at home on the patio by the fire and playing yard games.

She enjoyed attending football games and rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Always creating crafts for family, friends and her home.

She was the “Avon Lady” and got to take a trip to New York and stay at Plaza Hotel.

Trudy is survived by her husband, Mike Durben; her sons, Terry (Tanya) Adams of Farmington, Minnesota, and Jeffrey (Beth) Adams of Niwot, Colorado; four grandchildren, Dylan, Kiersten, Maggie and Sam Adams; sisters, Charlene (Dennis) Graff of Racine, Minnesota, Rochelle Wolf(Mike Russell) of Palm Bay, Florida; brother Mike (Deanna) Sorensen of Wabasha, Minnesota; father-in-law, Norman Durben of Austin, MN; in-laws, Pat Levorson of St. Ansgar, Keith and Rose Hemann of Iowa City, Michael and Judy Starr of Rochester, MN, Jerry and Lara Durben of Buffalo, MN; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Corlene (Sorensen) Frankenfield; sister-in-law Diane Durben Peterson; mother-in-law, Mary Durben.

Memorial are requested to be made to the American Cancer Society.
