Edna Marie Pitzen, age 82, of Osage, Iowa, died Friday, January 4, 2019, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

As per her wishes, private family inurnment services will be held at a later date. The family requests that memorials be given to Hospice of North Iowa, 232 2nd Street SE, Mason City, IA 50401-3906.

Edna was born March 15, 1936, near Osage, the daughter of Morris James and Goldie Mae (Korte) Nicol. She attended school in Osage and received her GED.

On February 25, 1954, she married Marvin Pitzen in Osage. Edna worked several years at the Mitchell County Care Facility. Edna was a member of the Osage V.F.W. Auxiliary and many card clubs. Edna loved her family. She enjoyed her flowers, friends, playing cards and country music.

Edna is survived by her children, Pam (Steve) Wilde of Grafton, Rita Pitzen and (Trent Busma) of Dumont, Keith (Julie) Pitzen of Waterloo, Kevin Pitzen of Grafton, Brenda (Todd) Giller of Taylors Falls, Minnesota, and Kent (Rita) Pitzen of Cresco; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby (Bob) Tabor of Del Rio, Texas; brother, Carroll (Lorene) Nicol of Osage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin in 2015; two brothers, one in infancy and Kenneth Nicol; and three sisters, Margaret Nicol, Marilyn Beyer and Dorothy Bublitz.
