Funeral notice: Kent E. Lenz, 52

Kent E. Lenz, 52, of rural Reading, Minnesota, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center.

Service: The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington, Minnesota, with Pastor Galen Smith officiating.

Visitation: Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

Interment: The burial will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at the St. Ansgar City Cemetery in St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Funeral Home: The Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of arrangements.

Kent Eric Lenz

September 22, 1966 ~ September 28, 2018 (age 52)

KENT E. LENZ, age 52, of rural Reading, died Friday, September 28, 2018, at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center.

He was born September 22, 1966, in Osage, Iowa, to Carroll and Diane (Swain) Lenz. Kent was an athlete in high school and graduated from Lyle High School.

Kent married Michelle Martin on August 13, 1988, in Rock Lake, ND. The couple lived in various cities before moving to Austin in 1992. Kent drove truck in Austin. He worked as a mechanic when the couple moved to Gillette, WY, and later to Fargo, ND. In 2014, they moved to rural Reading and Kent began working at JBS in Worthington.

He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington. Kent enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, Vikings and Gophers. He especially loved attending and coaching his boys sporting events.

Kent is survived by his wife, Michelle Lenz, Reading; three sons, Warren Lenz, Fargo, ND; Ryan Lenz, Reading; and Brock Lenz, Reading; mother, Diane Lenz, Reading; sister, Kim (Brad) Thompson, Peterson; brother, Robert (Pamela) Lenz, Ramsey; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his father; and an infant brother, Blaine.

Funeral will be Wednesday at 1 pm at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Galen Smith. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be 1 pm Thursday at the St. Ansgar Community Cemetery in St. Ansgar, Iowa.

The Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, is in charge of arrangements.
