Sister Catherine (Eulalia) Weisensel, OSF, 94, of Clare House at Mt. St. Francis, Dubuque, Iowa, passed away at 11:15 A.M., on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Clare House.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at 1 P.M., in Francis Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 P.M. - 7 P.M., on Monday, September 3, 2018, with Funeral Vigil at 7 P.M. in Francis Chapel.
Sister was born on December 8, 1923, in Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of Erhardt and Amanda (Diedrich) Weisensel.
Sister entered the Sisters of St. Francis August 25, 1941, and made final profession of vows August 10, 1947. Sister received her Master's Degree from Loras College, Dubuque, IA. She ministered in Iowa as a teacher at Sacred Heart and Wahlert in Dubuque, Alton, Larchwood, Monticello, Bancroft, and Remsen. She was also director of housekeeping at Briar Cliff College in Sioux City. In Illinois, she ministered at Corpus Christi in Chicago.
Sister is survived by her sister, Adella Attig; sister-in-law, Joan Weisensel; nieces and nephews; and her Franciscan sisters with whom she shared over (76) years of her life.
Sister was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Clemens, Roger, Willard, Fr. Lawrence, OSC, and Marvin; sisters, Angela, Marion, Ernestine (Elmer) Dorr, Esther (James) Larson, Norraine (Robert) Hemann; and brother-in-law, Dale Attig.
The Sisters of St. Francis express their "thanks" to Hospice of Dubuque for their care and concern.

The Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
