Lorraine Meitner

Lorraine “Boots” Meitner, age 83, of Osage, died from complications of Amyloidosis, Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Monsignor John Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Osage. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with a rosary at 4:15 p.m.

Lorraine was born January 17, 1935, near Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Rauen) Isaac. She graduated from Visitation High School in Stacyville in 1952. On August 24, 1957, she married Leo Meitner at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville. Over the years, Lorraine worked at Marr Knitting in Osage, Pitzen Bros. Produce in Stacyville, and for the Sacred Heart School hot lunch program in Osage, all while being a dedicated Dairy Farm wife. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Guild, the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries. Lorraine loved to dance, enjoyed playing cards and putting puzzles together. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Leo Meitner of Osage; her children, Angela (John) Duggan of Mason City, Keith (Gena) Meitner of Osage, Elizabeth (Mark) Lightcap of Dubuque, Mark (Kristi) Meitner of West Union, Loretta (Rodney) Koch of Osage, and Lavonne (Ed) Suhr of Fredericksburg; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Kay Isaac of Stacyville, Charlotte Meitner of St. Ansgar and Marcella Voight of Osage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bertilla and Kenneth Pint and Esther and Elmer Mayer; and brothers, Verlyn and Harold Isaac.
