The young man, working for T. Rierson, that we made mention of several weeks ago, who was kicked by a horse while trying to catch the animal, died last Thursday at the residence of Drs. Brorby. His funeral took place last Sunday at the Norwegian Lutheran church.

Item #2
Last Monday, a man who is working for Torsten Reierson, about two miles north of Mona, went out in the pasture to catch some horses. He came up behind a colt and caught it by the tail when the colt kicked him, striking him in the forehead and smashed his skull in a shocking manner. A messenger was at once sent for medical aid to Mona, but as Dr. Cobb was engaged elsewhere, the messenger was compelled to come to Osage. Dr. Whitley went up there and dressed the wound, removing several pieces of bone in doing so. We understand the man is quite comfortable now, but how it will terminate is still doubt.
