Doris Margaret North, age 89, of Osage, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Cindy Krause officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Following the Burial there will be a time of fellowship and lunch at the church.
Doris North was born June 30, 1928, in Osage the daughter of Link and Anna (Dorgeloh) Mathiesen. She attended Osage schools graduating in 1949.
Doris was united in marriage to Martin North, Jr., on September 18, 1966, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage. She worked at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage and Winnebago Industries in Forest City. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Rebecca Circle. Doris was also a member of Osage Legion Post 278 Auxiliary and Osage Bowling Leagues. She enjoyed the many trips that her and Martin Jr. took together.
Doris is survived by her sisters, Irene Thompson and Betty Dieterich both of Osage; step-children, Mark (Andrea) North of North Liberty, Michael “Mick” North of Little Cedar, Monte (Sheila) North of Mitchell, Melinda (Greg) Faas of Osage; nieces and nephews, Douglas Thompson of Osage, Geri and the late Darwin Thompson of St. Ansgar, Dennis (Ginger) Thompson of Osage, Debra (Robert) Barclay of Mitchell, David (Dana) Thompson of Osage, and Gary (Deanna) Dieterich of Osage; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Martin Jr. North; brothers-in-law, Dean Thompson, Hubert Dieterich;nephew, Darwin Thompson; father and mother-in-law, Martin Sr. and Mryna North; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Dorothy North.
