Obituary for Wilford "Willy" Ring

Wilford Lee “Willy” Ring, 86, formerly of McIntire, Iowa passed away January 6, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage, Iowa.

Wilford was born on May 8, 1931 to Harry and Mable Dilly Ring on the family farm in Howard County. He attended local schools.

He was united in marriage to Ilene Ann Roe on May 3, 1958 at St. Peters Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed welding, farming, watching the “Price is Right” and the Minnesota Twins. He also enjoyed going to school events for his grandkids. He was a Deacon at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He worked at White Farm Equipment in Charles City, Iowa. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include one daughter Deanna (Raymond) Fjetland of Racine, MN; three sons: David of McIntire, Daniel (Michele) of Elma, IA, and Robby (Amy) of Osage, IA; one daughter-in-law Nancy Ring of Ormond Beach, FL; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Wilford was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ilene in 2012; two sons Russell and Ricky; twin great-grandchildren Carson and Carter Fjetland; a brother Earl and a sister Esther Gilbert.
