Carroll Joseph Johnson, 86, passed away in Little Cedar, Iowa on December 22, 2017, surrounded by family and friends.

Carroll was married to Betty Jean Rogers of Riceville, Iowa on August 29th 1951. Carroll graduated from Little Cedar High School in 1949 and pursued a career as an electrician. He was also known for his skill as a plumber and mechanic. He worked in the iron ore mines as well as Rochester, Minnesota and surrounding areas as a union electrician. In 1956 he began a 37 year career at White Farm Equipment in Charles City, Iowa, before retiring at the age of 62.

Upon retirement, he traveled extensively, enjoying fishing and motorcycle trips with family and a large following of friends. He lived life 'his way' to the end and fun usually followed him wherever he went. In 1951 he joined the Marine Corp climbing through the ranks to corporal with an electrical MOS.

Carroll is survived by his wife Betty; children, Jan Johnson of Gypsum, Colorado, Doug Johnson and friend, Teresa Schmitz of Little Cedar, Iowa, and Roger Johnson (Lori) of Billings, Montana. Grand children: Nick Johnson (Toni) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Brandon Kesler of Avon, Colorado, Kelly Hall (Jeff) of Billings, Montana, Bryan Johnson (Danielle) of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Julie Hauge (Ben) of St. Ansgar, Iowa. Nine great-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brothers Robert Johnson (Roslea) of Des Moines, Iowa, Dale Johnson of Waverly, Iowa, Keith

Johnson (Sharon) of Madrid, Iowa, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Johnson of Bayview, Idaho,

Carroll is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Dorothy Johnson; Brother Merle Johnson, sister in law Sandra Johnson and grandson Chad Kesler.

Services will be held early summer in Little Cedar, Iowa.

Celebration of life services will be held June 2 at 10:30 a.m. at the Methodist Church in Little Cedar, Iowa with a lunch following. A time of sharing will follow the service at the family home. Please come and help us celebrate a life well lived.
