ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Lillian VanBuskirk, 90, of St. Ansgar, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Society, St. Ansgar.

Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, July 12, at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell, Iowa.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements.

Lillian VanBuskirk, 90

Lillian VanBuskirk, 90, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Society in St. Ansgar.

Lillian was born March 4, 1926, in Belmond, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Chapman and Lillian (Morphew) Chapman. She taught country school before her marriage to Owen VanBuskirk on August 21, 1945. They started farming east of Amsterdam Cemetery in Iowa, then moving to Brownsdale, Minnesota and farmed until they retired to Osage, Iowa in 1994. Together they had ten children.

Lillian enjoyed traveling, reading and her plants and flowers. She was an excellent seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen; sons, John, Harold and Loyd VanBuskirk; son-in-law, Virgil Frieden.

Lillian is survived by her children, Lois Frieden of Bemidji, Minnesota, Harry (Bev) VanBuskirk of Sargeant, Minnesota, Wayne VanBuskirk of Rochester, Minnesota, Roy VanBuskirk of Spring Valley, Minnesota, Linda (Wayne Jorgenson of Sargeant, Minnesota, Gary (Laura) VanBuskirk of Rose Creek, Minnesota and Paul VanBuskirk of Swea City, Iowa.; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:30 to 12 a.m. on July 12, 2016, at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Amsterdam Cemetery in Goodell, Iowa. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.
