Mrs. Selma Dufty Funeral Held Thursday, April 3

Funeral services for Mrs. Selma Dufty, 85, who died March 31 at St. Mark s Retirement Home in Austin were held April 3 at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin with the Rev. Bovd Huester of Church of Christ in Austin, officiating. Interment was in Rose Creek Enterprise cemetery.

Selma Amanda Dufty, daughter of Peder and Olena (Thompson) Johnson, was born at St. Ansgar September 23, 1889. She was confirmed at the Mona Lutheran church and attended the rural Lyle Center school and Lyle public school. In 1934 she was baptized and became a member of the Church of Christ in Austin where she remained a member until her death.

On February 20, 1908 she was united in marriage to George E. Dufty and they established their home in Lyle township, later moving to Austin where she lived until her death.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. George (Neva) Orcutt of Austin; Mrs. Carroll (Violet) Howard of Lyle, Miss Georgie Dufty of Minnetonka, Minn.; Mrs. Hugh (Delia) Thompson of Dallas, Tex.; three sons, Fred of Elk Grove Village, Illinois; Irvin of Bokeelia, Fla.; Harlan of Littleton, Colo., 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs Hollis (Mae) Weber and Mrs. John (Irene) Remke, both of Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, several sisters and brothers, and her husband, George in 1966.
