Obituary--

Maxine E. (Burrell) Shedenhelm, 93, of Riceville, Iowa, died on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Mitchell County Hospital in Osage, Iowa after a fall.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Marengo, Iowa. Burial will be in Marengo City Cemetery, Marengo, Iowa. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, with a scripture service 6:30 p.m., at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home 407 Woodland Ave., Riceville, Iowa 50466. 641-985-2797.

Maxine Elizabeth Burrell Shedenhelm was born on February 28, 1920 in Marengo, Iowa. She enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren and making each a birthday cake every year that was truly special. Raising a big garden and putting it into jars was a big joy to her. She was a wonderful cook and everyone who ate at her table knew that she cooked with love. Flowers were everywhere at her home and she enjoyed them from early spring to late fall. Max enjoyed fishing with the kids and visiting the cabin. She will be dearly missed for her warm hugs and warmth of her presence by all knew and loved her.

She leaves to mourn her loss: Duane, her husband of 69 years; son and daughter-in-law, Jary and Rebecca; four grandchildren: Jade (wife Heidi), Jill, Jennifer and Jaqulin; and eight great-grandchildren: Derek, Ryan, Logan, Serena, Grant, Grace, Ty and Jonathan.

Preceding her in death are her parents; two sisters, and a brother.
