Clara Sorlie was born July 11, 1890 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Lars Larsen Sorlie and Berthe Christine Olsdatter Fjelde, the second of their three daughters.

She was baptized on August 7, 1890 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Ole Fjelde; Nicolai Pedersen; Ingeborg Pedersen and Marie Fjelde.

Clara had two sisters: Inga and Lydia Bertina and five half-siblings: Borghild, Lars, Hilmar, Louise and Oscar.

Clara was confirmed at RCLC on May 28, 1905.

Found in the 1895 census living at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa: Clara Sorlie age 4.

Found in the 1900 - 1910 censuses at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1900: Lars L Sorlie 40, Inga Sorlie 11, Clara Sorlie 9, Ole Fjilde 72, Louise I Fjilde 34, Maren O Lund 29, Peder Ostby 24.

1905: Clara age 14.

1910: Lara (Lars) L Sorlie 50, Maren Sorlie 39, Clara Sorlie 19, Baghild (Borghild) Sorlie 10, Lara (Lars) Sorlie 5, Hilmar Sorlie 3, Lornise (Louise) Sorlie 2 mos, Ervinas Iverarnd 22, Harry Sorlie 22.

Clara married Carl (Charles) B Flynn on March 1, 1914 at Rock Creek Lutheran, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had two children: Lloyd and Myrtle.

1920: Charlie Flynn 41, Clara Flynn 29, Loyd Flynn 11 mos.

1930: Charles Flynn 52, Clara Flynn 39, Lloyd Flynn 11, Myrtle Flynn 9.

1940: Charles Flinn 61, Clara Flinn 49, Lloyd Flinn 21, Myrtle Flinn 19.

Clara Flynn died July 1972 at Owatonna, Steele, Minnesota. She is buried at Plum City Union Cemetery, Plum City, Pierce, Wisconsin. There is a memorial for her at Find A Grave # 9510773.
