Obituary for Glennis Kae Krull

Glennis Kae Krull, age 74, of Riceville, Iowa died Monday, August 31, 2015, at the Osage Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Osage, Iowa. A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville is in charge of arrangements.

Glennis was born on November 16, 1940 to Glenn and Susie (Grant) Meader in Charles City, Iowa. She attended local schools in Marble Rock and Webster City, Iowa. Glennis was united in marriage in Jewell, Iowa to Fred Nels Krull on May 9, 1959. They farmed and had a dairy herd and canned milk routes.

In 1979 they retired from farming and moved just outside of Riceville. She began working as a waitress and cook at Allen’s Café in 1955 - 1957, then at the Curve Inn Truck Depot in 1957 – 1959, and Pettitt’s Café in 1984 until her retirement in 1998.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, her flower gardens, and her family and her dogs.

Glennis is survived by her children: Kenneth Krull of Ricevile, Iowa, Kelly (DeAnne) Krull of Decorah, Iowa, Kris Krull of McIntire, Iowa and Kathleen Krull of Protovin, Iowa. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, a brother Jerry (Carol) Meader of Rockford, Iowa, an aunt and uncle Charles and Mildred McEnroy of Vinton, Iowa and a brother-in-law Robert Krull of Boone, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

As per Glennis' wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family at 1358 Canoe Ridge Rd, Decorah, Iowa 52101".
