Amelia (Emilia) Annette Pedersen was born October 11, 1877 at Newburg township, Mitchell County, Iowa to John Pedersen Maakestad and Martha Nielsdatter Johnson, the seventh of their eight children.

Amelia died before 1880 at Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa.

She may have been buried at the Riverview Cemetery in Newburg township but have not found 100% proof. She does have a brother, Niels Edward Pedersen who was buried at Riverview in 1872. Her parents are buried at Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo, Iowa.
