Juanita L. Halvorson, age 85, of Osage, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Bryan Lagerstam and Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Juanita was born January 20, 1929 in Osage the youngest of six children to Otha and Wanda (Lundy) Francis. Juanita was united in marriage to Lou Halvorson on February 8, 1963. She lived and worked in the Osage area her entire life.

In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Mitchell County Food Bank.

Juanita is survived by her son, Norman (Yvonne) Halvorson of Plano, Texas and her daughter, Debra (Dave) Boston of Grimes; two grandchildren, Chrissi and DJ; two great grandchildren, Grant and Alayna.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.
