EDWARD M BRITTS PASSES FROM LIFE
FATHER OF PRESIDENT OF ST. LOUIS COUNTY BANK IS VICTIM OF CANCEREdward M. Britts, father of Charles A. Britts, president of the St. Louis County bank, died yesterday morning in St. Mary’s hospital, aged 76 years.
The cause of death was cancer of the stomach, with which Mr. Britts had suffered for some time. The disease did not assume an acute stage until a month ago.
Mr. Britts came here from his home in Verndale, Wadena County, to visit his son a few months ago. For the past four weeks he was a patient at St. Mary’s hospital, and although the best medical skill was employed the disease did not respond to treatment.
The body of Mr. Britts will be sent to his old home in Osage, Iowa, today, where it will be interred in the family vault. Undertaker Charles J. Stewart has charge of the arrangements.
Edward M. Britts was for several years engaged in the milling business in Osage, Iowa, and at Verndale, Minn., but retired some years ago. He is survived by four sons, two daughters, B. F. Britts of Virginia, Minn., W. H. Britts of Portland, Ore., Fred Britts and Charles A. Britts of Duluth, Mrs. James at Osage, Iowa, and Mrs. E. F. Swift of Mexico City.
