Martha Marie Norby was born December 18, 1890 at Rock Grove, Floyd, Iowa to Olaus Halsteinsen Norby and Sigrid Syversdatter Fosholdt, the second of their three children.

Martha was baptized on February 8, 1891 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs Iver H Norby, Lauritz Norby and Marthe M Fosholdt. She was confirmed at RCLC on June 10, 1906.

Martha married Joseph O Hagen on June 19, 1918 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had 1 daughter, Selma Clarice (born 1920).

1900: Olaus I Norby 39, Sarah Norby 37, Sigurd H Norby 12, Martha M Norby 9, Tillman J Norby 4.

1910: Olaus Halstenson Norby 49, Sarah (Sigrid) Syversdatter Fosholdt Norby 47, Herloff Sigurd Norby 21, Myatte Norby 19, Tilliman Norby 14.

1915: Martha Norby age 23

1925: Joseph O Hagen 43, Martha Hagen 34, Selma Hagen 5.

Found in the 1930 census at Madison, Hancock, Iowa: Joseph Hagen 48, Martha Hagen 39, Selma Hagen 10.

Found in the 1940 census at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: Joseph O Hagen 58, Martha M Hagen 48. Working as a laborer for the WPA.

Martha M. Hagen died January 24, 1979, at Osage, Mitchell Co, Iowa, and is buried at Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
