Cecelia Maria Nelson (Nielsen) was born May 20, 1863 to Steen (Stein) Nelson (Nielsen) and Randvi Maria Aadsdatter Himle.

Her father died when she was only a year old and her mother died when she was eight. Found with the name Mary Nelson and raised by relatives. She never married, nor had children.

Found in the 1870 census living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Robert Isaacs 40, Maria Isaacs 33, Mary Isaacs 12, Cornelia Isaacs 10, Cornelius Isaacs 10, Mary Nelson 7, Stena Nelson 4, Edward Nelson 3, James Benson 22.

Found in the 1880 census at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa: Hans Halverson 56, Betsy Halverson 47, John Halverson 19, Amanda Halverson 10, Helver Halverson 5, Maria C. Nelson 17 (says she is adopted), Betsy C. Nelson 74 (grandmother).

Cecelia died January 27, 1890 at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Cemetery record lists her as Marie Nilsen. Also found death date of January 17th, 1890.
