Lydia Moen was born July 5, 1900 near Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Syver Veggarsen Moen (1864-1941) and Olava Thorine Olson (1869-1901), their only child.

Lydia lived near Meroa, Iowa until 1902 and then after her mother's death when she was a year old, lived with Hans & Lena Odden until 1905.

Found in the 1910 census living at Grand Meadow, Mower, Minnesota: Sever V Morre 46, Karen L Morre 36, Lydia Morre 9, Laura V Morre 3, Ingral S Morre 8 mos , Helge Mahl 24.

Found in the 1915 census at Chester, Howard, Iowa: Lydie Moen age 14.

Found in the 1920 census at Leroy, Mower, Minnesota: Syra V Moen 55, Karen Moen 46, Lydia Moen 19, Laura V Moen 12, Ingvald S Moen 10, Gilman Moen 8.

Lydia married William Waldo Hamann about 1920. The couple had 4 children:
Lawrence William (b 1920);
William (b abt 1922, lived a year);
Shirley Jean (b 1924) and
Florence Eileen (b 1927).

Found in the 1925 census living at Chester, Howard, Iowa: Wm Hamann 33, Lyda Hamann 24, Lawrence Hamann 5, Sherley Hamann 1.

Her spouse, William was killed in a grain elevator accident in Cresco, Howard, Iowa. Lydia moved her children to Osage, Mitchell County, Iowa and worked at a cafe in Osage, Iowa for her uncle, Levi Olsen.

Found in the 1930 census at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: Lydia Hamann 29, Laurence W Hamann 10, Shirley J Hamann 5, Florence E Hamann 3 yrs 5 mos.

Lydia Hamann next married Randall Franklin Jones on October 17, 1931 at Albert Lea, Minnesota. The couple had 2 children: a boy and a girl.

Found in the 1940 census living at Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa: Ronald (should be Randall) Jones 29, Lydia Jones 39, Lawrence M Hanson (should be Hamann) 20, Shirley Hanson (Hamann) 15, Florence Hanson (Hamann) 13, Franklin Jones 7, Marilyn Jones 6.

Lydia Jones died June 8, 1988 at Crescent City, Putnam, Florida and was buried at the Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery, Pierson, Volusia, Florida.
