Norman E. Troge
(Died October 30, 2014)
Norman Edward Troge, 77, began his life on June 15, 1937 in Osage, Iowa, the second child of Wilhelm (Bill) Troge and Corda Wilson. Norm ended his earthly journey on Thursday, October 30, 2014 in hospice care at Mitchell County Regional Health Center. He was a loving and committed husband and father, a proud grandfather and warm and loyal friend to many -- with special lifetime friends.
Norm lived his early years on the family farm south of Osage and graduated from Orchard High School. He demonstrated his faith in how he spent his time with his family, friends, community and the nature he loved. Fishing along the bends of the Cedar River and spending time teaching his children and grandchildren made him happy. Norm amazed many with his ability to fix anything and created useful gadgets -- a skilled tinkerer that enjoyed helping others.
Norm is survived by his wife, Sharon (Brunsvold) of 54 years, and their four children Laura (Douglas) Jost, children Rachel, Jacob and Ethan; Douglas (Jane) Troge, children Dan, Jess, Katie, Amy and Robert; Dianna (Sal) Greco, child Danielle Leeper; Julie (Dave) Mauser, children Jeff, Brad and Greg; along with five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Nadine (Richard) Wagner of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews. We will all treasure his memories until we join him again.
Norm was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Osage Iowa. His Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. A fellowship lunch for family and friends will follow the service with a private family inurnment services at Calvary Cemetery, rural Osage.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Norm's church home at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa.
