Claudetta Baldwin, age 77, of Osage, died Thursday, October 16, 2014, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Graveside inurnment services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Osage Cemetery with Lay Leader Karen Hahn-Brown officiating.

Claudetta Roberta Willsher Baldwin was born February 25, 1937, to Claude Robert and Velma Mae (Sadler) Willsher, at a farmhouse 2 ½ miles from Rockford, Iowa. The family moved to Mitchell County when she was two weeks old. Claudetta attended many different country schools and then Osage Public School after moving to Osage when she was 13 years old. Soon after school, she was married and raised a family.

In 1969, she attended NIACC night classes to receive her G.E.D. and certification for Medication Aide. She also got her driver’s license. Claudetta was employed at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage from 1969 to 1998, at which time she retired because of health reasons. In earlier years, she was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Claudetta was a member of the First Baptist Church in Osage where she taught Sunday School and Bible School, was a Deaconess, was a member of the Christian Education Board, and cooked for the Eatalones for several years. She was known to help many older people in Osage.

Claudetta is survived by three daughters, Teresa Davis of Minnesota, Janis Anderson of Grinnell, Sandra (Randy) Maravetz of Charles City; four sons, Thomas Baldwin of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Ron (Jeannie) Baldwin of Charles City, Myron (Barb) Baldwin of Osage, John Baldwin of Osage; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; adopted mother, Wildora Merrill; son, Claude Edmund Baldwin; three infant sons, Robert, Walter and Timothy; and sister, Georgia Mikkelson and her husband, Peter.
