Stella Antonetta Maakestad was born April 24, 1896 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Syver Johan Maakestad and Antonette Docken (Dokken, Thidemandsen), the fourth of their six children.

She was baptized on May 24, 1896 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs G. O. Brager; Christine G Docken and Gabriel Docken.

Found in the 1900 census living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Syver J Maahestad 32, Antonete Maahestad 30, Oliver Maahestad 9, Gertie C Maahestad 8, Johan J Maahestad 5, Stella A Maahestad 4, Ingvald M Maahestad 1, Chrestafer Brenden 31, Aslak Arno 32.

Stella died September 19, 1900 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. There is a memorial for her at Find a Grave #98146828.

(Note: Two years after her death, her parents had another daughter who they also named Stella Antonetta Maakestad.)
