Oline Maakestad was born November 22, 1870 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Ole Johnsen Maakestad and Kjersti Engebritsdatter Qvisle Nelson, one of their seven children. She had a twin sister, Christine.

Oline was baptized on March 19, 1871 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

She died September 2, 1871 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
