Anne Marie also had five older half-siblings who were born to her father Johannes and Gjoa Olsdatter Aaren (b April 18, 1831 Hordaland, Norway, d August 28, 1855 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa). They were:
Peder Johannesen Maakestad (b abt 1851 Ullensvang, Hordaland, Norway d before 1852 Ullensvang, Hordaland, Norway);

Anne Marie was baptized on May 30, 1859 at the First Lutheran Church at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa. The Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa had not been established yet so the early Norwegian settlers in Cedar township would travel to St Ansgar for worship services.

Found in the 1860 census living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: John Peterson 40, Catharine Peterson 31, Peter Peterson 5, Maria Peterson 1, Wm Oleson 43 (William Reisaetter Olesen).

Maria died June 28, 1868 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her name is found on the list of "Early Burials at Rock Creek" (from records at First Lutheran Church, St Ansgar, Iowa) recorded as Marie Johannesdatter Maakestad, age 9, buried at Rock Creek South Cemetery.

Rock Creek South Cemetery (which no longer exists) was also referred to as the Ole Torgersen Fagerbakken Cemetery or Oscar Pedersen Cemetery; located at Section 17, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Supposedly all graves at Rock Creek South were moved to the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa although no gravestone found for Marie at the present day RCLC Cemetery.
