BLANDIN

Last Saturday occurred the funeral of Wm. T. Blandin, at Riceville, Iowa. He was one of the early settlers of the section and reached the ripe old age of seventy-eight. We have no data at hand to give an extended account of his life.

He was a native of New York and lived in Wisconsin and Minnesota that we know of and perhaps in others. It was in 1865 that he settled in Iowa. The old settlers all knew Mr. Blandin. We have known him for the past eight years and although his days of hard work were over he was always busy, yet with always time to give an encouraging word to the discouraged or a cordial greeting to a friend.

His aged companion passed away three years ago last spring if our memory serves us correctly, three sons and a daughter survive him, all of whom were present at the funeral.
