Julian Leonhard (Leonard) Knudsen

Julian Leonhard (Leonard) Knudsen was born May 10, 1892 at Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa to Ole Knudsen and Kari Olsdatter, the ninth of their eleven children.

He was baptized on July 4, 1892 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Found in the 1895 & 1900 censuses living on a farm at Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa (southwest of Orchard):
1895: Julian Knudson age 3.

1900: Ole Knudson 46, Carrie Knudson 54, Carl Knudson 20, Oscar Knudson 19, Peter Knudson 14, Herman Knudson 12, Nellie Knudson 11, Julian Knudson 8, Laura Knudson 6.

Found in the 1910 - 1925 censuses at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa:
1910: Ola Knudson 57, Carrie Knudson 54, Herman Knudson 22, Julian Leonhard Knudsen 17, Laura Knudson 16, Olga Cecelia Knudsen 7.

1915: Julian Knudon, age 21.

1920: Ole Knutson 66, Carrie Knutson 63, Peter A Knutson 35, Julian Knutson 28, Olga Knutson 16.

1925: Ole Kundson 72, Carrie Kundson 68, Peter Kundson 40, Julian Kundson 32, Olga Kundson 21.

Julian married Ellen Irene Decker on June 15, 1930 at the Osage Lutheran Church, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa. He was working as a grocer and was 39 years old, his wife Irene was 33.

Couple found in the 1930 census living at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: Ole Knudson 77, Carrie Knudson 73, Peter A Knudson 45, Julien L Knudson 37.

Julian died July 1, 1966 at Mitchell County, Iowa and is buried at the Osage Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.

Notes: I found the surname spelled many ways, not sure which is correct. May have died at Osage, Mitchell County, not Rockford, Floyd County.
