Hazel Lavina (Brown) Jordan – February 4, 1892 – May 25, 1951

Mrs. William Jordan of Spring Green died Friday morning after a long illness. She was 59.

The former Hazel Lavina Brown was born in Orchard, Iowa, February 4, 1892, the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Vining) Brown. She attended public school there until her teens when she moved to Lone Rock to assist her aunt at the hotel.

There she met William Jordan and they were married November 23, 1911 in Osage, Iowa.

Shortly after their marriage the Jordans moved to a farm and lived there until 1937 when they moved to Spring Green. Mrs. Jordan became a member of the Methodist church while living in Lone Rock

She was ill for a number of years. During the final month of her sickness she was moved to the hospital. After a brief return home she was again taken to the hospital where she died Friday.

Services were held at the Congregational Church, Rev. r. F. Merritt officiating, and burial was in the Spring Green Cemetery.

Mrs. Jordan is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Vorndran (Irma) and Mrs. LaVerne Sailing (Zella), one son, Robert Jordan; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Becker of Spring Green, Mrs. Byron Luther of Madison, and Mrs. Thomas Pyburn of Marshall; one brother, Lee Brown of Spring Green and many other relatives.
